Choosing the Right Course to Study in Montenegro
Montenegro offers many study programmes and choosing one is a difficult job. Right planning, timing and advice is needed in order to choose the right course of study.
Abide by the below mentioned steps-
Step 1: Decide and Research
Know your career aspirations and goals. Determine what you want to do and why. Then research about the programme you want to take up. Check with the universities in Montenegro offering that programme. Know the admission requirements, application procedure, course structure, fees, financial support, accommodation options and other necessary things.
Academic Requirements
The academic requirements in Montenegro vary depending upon the study level and programme. Universities in Montenegro have different admission requisites, so read the course information on their website carefully and if any query, contact the admission office of the university.
For Bachelor Degree : Students should have successfully finished secondary school. Also, students must pass a secondary school leaving exam/entrance exam for higher education- Matura exam.
For Postgraduate Studies- Master and Doctoral Degree
For admission into the master’s degree programme, pupils must hold a relevant Bachelor's degree or specialist degree.
For admission into the doctoral degree program, students should hold a relevant Master’s degree or its equivalent.
Step 2: Apply to the University of your Choice
Apply to the University of your Choice directly. Fill in the application form and submit with the required documents before the deadline. If you're accepted, a letter of acceptance/invitation is issued. Upon receiving the letter, apply for scholarship (if needed) and visa for Montenegro.
Step 3: Apply for Scholarships
Scholarships to study in Montenegro are provided through bilateral agreements, either on national level, i.e. between Montenegro government and another country’s government, or on institutional level, i.e. between the higher education institution in Montenegro and a foreign university/institution. Contact the respective higher education institution in Montenegro to know about the scholarships offered by them.
Step 4: Apply for Visa
International students must apply for visa after receiving the acceptance letter from the university. Apply for visa at the Montenegro Embassy/Consulate at your place of residence.
