Slovene as a Second/Foreign Language
Slovenian language exam is for individuals whose mother tongue is not Slovenian, and are required to demonstrate their level of command in the Slovene language. The Examination Centre of the Centre for Slovene as a Second/Foreign Language manages the Slovene as a second language exam and issues the official certificates of the exam. Slovene as a second language exam is offered at various levels as detailed below:
- Breakthrough level: A1 Basic User: Breakthrough
- Basic level: A2 Basic User: Waystage
- Basic level: B1 Independent User: Threshold
- Intermediate level: B2 Independent User: Vantage
- Advanced level: C1 Proficient User: Effective Operational Proficiency
- Advanced level: C2 Proficient User: Mastery
A candidate can register for any of the Slovene as a Second/Foreign Language. However, for which examination level a candidate shall register largely depends on usage. For example, to apply for Slovene Breakthrough Level might be sufficient score. And for admission to higher degree programmes Score in Higher Level may be required. For exact requirements candidates are required to check with concerned authority.
