How K-12 Education System works in Iceland
The education system of Iceland including schooling, higher education and professional education is governed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture. There are many public and private schools in Iceland. Compulsory education is free. Children in the age group of 1 to 16 year does not require paying tuition cost. After this stage students proceed to join Upper Secondary School.
