CLEP: College Level Examination Program

The CLEP (College Level Examination Program) is administered across United States and many other world locations to earn college credit. Learners can chose to CLEP college credit from more than 30 study disciplines. In last 50 years CLEP has gained popularity as one of the most widely accepted credit by examination program. Program you can take CLEP over 1800 test centers across the world. The CLEP credits are recognized by 2900 colleges and universities across globe.  Many CLEP accepting institutions award same credit as much you get in a CLEP subject.  However recognition of CLEP subjects is sole decision of individual institutions. The CLEP College Credit offers you following benefits

CLEP Registration

The following groups are funded by US Government under contract with DANTES:

• Military personnel (active duty, reserve, National Guard): Army, Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard, Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve, Navy Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, Army, and Air National Guard.
• Spouses of: Coast Guard (active and reserve)Civilian employees of: Air Force

CLEP Score

• Your CLEP Raw Score is the number of questions you answered correctly.
• Your raw score is then measured on a scaled score of minimum 20 to maximum 80
• The American Council on Education (ACE) recommends that colleges grant credit for a score of 50 or higher, but individual institutions can set their own CLEP credit policies.
  
• Individual colleges and universities may set their own guidelines. For example, for the year 2018-19, the ACE recommendation for Financial Accounting was 50 which is equivalent of 3 semester hours.
• The CLEP Examination Registration comes with a Free Score Send feature. However, you can send score to addition institutions for a cost as defined by testing authority.

CLEP Test Center

CLEP Score Policy

The ACE recommends for a CLEP score of 50 or higher but individual colleges and universities may set their own CLEP credit granting standards. There are more than 2900 colleges and universities that accept CLEP Score for the award of college credit.
