Advance Placement (AP) Program

The Advance Placement (AP) Programme was first introduced in 1955. The examination is developed and delivered by College Board. Students studying in high school can apply for AP programme and earn college credit in advance. The college preparedness that students show through AP Test help them in getting into a college of choice and to do away with some introductory college course. The examination is delivered worldwide once in a year.

AP Score is accepted for admission across colleges in United States and Canada, Europe and other parts of the world. AP Score is also considered by colleges and universities for award of scholarships. In general, AP program is organized by schools in association with College Board. To take AP test talk to your teacher or counselor. In case if your school is not taking part in AP then too you can take part in AP Test through approved AP Test providers.

AP Examination Fees

To appear for exam you will need pay a test fee to college board. Details given below

Regular Exams
  • Student pays school: $94 per exam
  • School pays the College Board: $85 per exam
  • School rebate: $9 per exam

  • AP Capstone: AP Seminar and AP Research
  • Student pays school: $142 per exam
  • School pays the College Board: $133
  • School rebate: $9 per exam
International Exams*
  • Student pays school: $124 per exam
  • School pays the College Board: $115 per exam
  • School rebate: $9 per exam
  • Exams at College Board – authorized test centers outside the U.S.:  Fees vary
Alternate Exams for Late Testing

Late-testing fee (reason: school mistake, student conflict, etc.): $45 per exam in addition to the exam fee

Other Fees
  • Unused exams: $15 per exam
  • Late exam orders: $55 for each order received after the extension deadline
  • Late exam return: Twice the exam fee for each exam in shipments received after June 1
  • Late payment: $225 for payments postmarked after June 15

*Applies to exams administered at schools outside the United States, U.S. territories and commonwealths, and Canada, with the exception of U.S. Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS).
The amount schools collect from students may vary under certain circumstances.

Important:
  • Coordinators are responsible for notifying students when and where to report for the exams. Early testing or testing at times other than those published by the College Board is not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Coordinators should order alternate (late-testing) exams for students who would like to take exams that are scheduled for the same time.
  • Schools in Alaska must begin the morning exam administration between 7 and 8 a.m. local time, and the afternoon exam administration between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. local time. The AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism Exam in Alaska must begin between 1 and 2 p.m. local time.
  •  AP Seminar end-of-course exams are only available to students at schools participating in the AP Capstone Diploma program.

Register for AP Examination 2019

Candidates looking to get AP Credits can register for AP Exams online. Registration is simple and easy. Just sign up with College Board website, chose your Exam, Fill application, pay fees online using netbanking or bank card or any other suggested mode of payment and submit application.

Students can login and view AP Exam Score from College Board website. The AP Exams are scored it a 5 point scale

5 = extremely well qualified
4 = well qualified
3 = qualified
2 = possibly qualified
1 = no recommendation
