Career as Research Analyst

Research analysts are employed by both government and private organizations. However, to be one you need not only above qualities but certain sets of high level qualification in your area of interests.

A minimum of 4 year college degree can take you to the career path of research analyst. After completion of college you can chose to go in this field preferably with an internship. However persons with higher qualification like masters or doctorate are preferred. Hiring depends on many factors including what employer is looking; research aptitude, skills, patience, team work spirit, communication skills and intentions to never say no.

What a Research Analyst does

As the name suggest, the job of a Research Analyst is to collect information from the sources (for example market or public domain), prepare reports/ presentation in a way that can be easily understood by the co-workers and preferably masses. As a research analyst your job is to become an expert in a very specific sector.

There are different types of Research Analyst, depending upon the work setup. For example:

  • Analytical skills: Should be able to understand and interpret information.

  • Communication skills: Having good communication skills is an added advantage as it can help you gather information or interpret data easily.
